Astins secured the contract to deliver the SFS, drywall and partitioning at the Royal Liverpool University hospital project for Carillion.
The new hospital will be built next to the existing hospital, which will be demolished once services have been transferred. The new hospital will be the largest all single-bed hospital in the country with 646 beds, including a 40-bed Critical Care Unit, 18 operating theatres and one of the largest emergency departments in the North West.
Scope of works include drywall, partitioning and ceilings with an approximate value to Astins of £11.7m
Astins’ pre-construction and design teams worked with Carillion early on in the planning phase of the project to secure a 2.5% saving on the works through value engineering.
