The Astins Institute works hard to help the company leave a lasting legacy on all projects. One that engages with the local community. It helps the company provide local people with jobs, training, qualifications and work experience. And a real sense of involvement.
We are currently working with clients to turn that into a reality at as many sites as is possible. For example, in Glasgow and in London we are working with main contractors, where they need to ensure that at least 30% of the construction workforce is sourced from the local community. That involves training and skills development support from the Astins Institute. From entry level courses through to NVQs and everything in between.
